The Canto General by the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda is a chronicle-in-poetry of Latin America that contains more than fifteen thousand lines of verse. In this chronicle of verses, Neruda tells his personal story in the background.

Musically, this extensive work of poetry is best known for the composition for choir by Mikis Theodorakis.
